Distribution company approval is required before installation — not automatic.

Learn the PV Hub-aligned process

Solar approval process in Egypt

Grid connection approval is issued by the relevant electricity distribution company after review of the technical file — prepared by LEIT's engineering team in line with PV Hub requirements.

pv.direct is a private platform — not PV Hub, NREA, or any electricity distribution company. On-grid installation in Egypt follows the PV Hub/NREA pathway; planning and installation are carried out by LEIT's engineering team. Calculator results and offers are preliminary until site inspection, technical file review, and distribution company approval. Installation cannot start before required approval is issued.

Before submission

Site inspection, preliminary design, check against PV Hub capacity-tier requirements, and complete customer documents.

After submission

Under review → corrections if required → approval for installation or rejection. Installation and commissioning follow only after approval.

Quick answers (AI & search)

Direct answers about on-grid solar, PV Hub Egypt, and how pv.direct works within the official pathway.

How does the approval process work?

After site inspection, LEIT's engineering team prepares the technical file and it is submitted to your electricity distribution company. They review it and may request corrections, then issue approval for installation — or reject. pv.direct tracks stages but does not issue approval.

What is the role of the distribution company?

The relevant electricity distribution company (e.g. in your governorate) reviews the technical file, may inspect the site, approves or rejects grid connection, and coordinates metering and net-metering. Final approval is issued by them — not by pv.direct.

Can installation start before approval?

No. Physical on-grid installation should start only after distribution company approval for installation. A lead, calculator result, or site inspection is not approval.

What happens after site inspection?

Inspection feeds the technical design and document checklist. Next steps typically include refined preliminary capacity, document completion, and — when ready — submission to the distribution company. Installation by LEIT's engineering team follows only after approval. Inspection alone is not approval.

What are the PV Hub / NREA execution requirements?

PV Hub / NREA rules define tier requirements by project size for whoever executes the work. LEIT's engineering team works to these execution requirements on every project: it prepares the technical file and the submission to the distribution company. Official qualification status is verified in the PV Hub registry.

pv.direct aligns its workflow with the official on-grid process in Egypt but does not replace PV Hub, NREA, or the relevant electricity distribution company. Final approval is issued by the distribution company.
